Hi,
I'm a bit puzzled, I recently bought a small digital camcorder, In the
Spiel that came with it, it says that it records in mpeg-4 format,
However, when I plug it in to the pc to download them they appear as .AVI files.
I would have expected to see .MP4 file extension Are they/can they be the same?
Cheers guys.

AVI can be thought of as an generic holder for any of the numerous video/audio compression schemes. An MPEG4 stream can appear on its own or as an embedded stream in an AVI file.
