Have just found out that as a service leaver (Left a year ago) Im still entitled to use my learning credits for ten years!!I thought this was too good to be true and enquired further,I was assured It was the case and was told £1000 etc etc for up to 10 years.

Has anybody made use of these as a civilian? What courses can they be used on and..do they wrap you up in so much red tape that its hardly worth pursuing?

Cheers.

Thanks PMA, will have a look.

Anybody here got personal experience of using them as a civvy? Is it all as straight forward as they lead you to believe?

Only difference as I understand it, is that they are taxed once you have left whereas they are tax free amounts whilst serving.

The rest of the criteria should remain the same, except for the courses needing to be in the interests of the service once out:confused:

I left the RAF this time last year, and the last signature I got from my boss was on my learning credits chit for an OU course. Sent the form direct to the OU and they knocked 80% off my course fees. Well worth the paperwork - considering it was only a single sheet!
