Hi all pruners!
I had my first interview ever today and I got the job!!!
I started out in 2000 and quickly found pprune where I could find answers to questions that I had and there will certainly be more questions to come.
Since then I've been through various setbacks such as failing screening tests over and over again for government sponsorprogramms etc. Finally though, six years later, I got my first job. The TR course started roughly an hour after the interview was held. Good things do happen in this buisness and I'm shure they'll continue to happen. When they do though, things go ever so quickly so just be prepared to be swept off your feet and go with the flow!!!
Thanks again for providing me with the rewarding discussions and alternate viewpoints that some times are so necesary!

Congrats, seems like a roller coaster ride, TR starting 1hr after interview????? Wow, how cool is that!!!!! Are you local to the TR establishment or did you have to make contingency plans, all good exciting stuff. Well done!!!

If I think of the scenario, there's no way I would have had a job here a year ago. The size and type of operation is the typical "be able to provide reference within the establishment" job. Just to see that these employers will hire a low houred complete stranger to both company and culture is a great confidence booster and should act as such towards other fresh license holders! I'm not local in any way, I flew in from Sweden last morning and since then have been shuttled around in various staffcars. Everything has been sorted out it seems so I'll just be in for the ride from now on :E !!!

I'll be flying the Saab 340.
I've allready completed the whole CBT so I've allready gotten to know the plane a bit and it seems it's got everything I need to consider it a proper airliner. Also, it's JAR 25 and the company A/C individs are CAT 2 approved.
It would've been nice with a V-nav capability and AT but all the other turbo-prop related systems and gadgets that produce yet another switch on flightdeck make up for it I guess! At any rate I'm in no position to complain and better still, I really dont feel the need to either. I'm really looking forward to getting a more physical relationship with the plane!

Congratulations Low and Slow,
I started out on the Saab 340 as well. Back when they were new from the factory :) She is a fine ship and you will LOVE that cockpit as a front office on long days. She lands a little stiff but all in all a wonderful place to learn EFIS and Airline flying. Welcome to the ranks

There!
Now I've completed 2 shifts on the 340.
I feel like someone beat me with a lexicon. First day was very hectic. 6 legs starting with check-in at 0620 :\
After the finishing, I wasn't completely shure that I enjoyed it to the max. I was flying in the tailcone most of the time.
Second shift was much better. I was much more prepared and my seating position probably moved up to the third row at least :}
Finished of with a marked touchdown not too far from TD point on centreline.
Now I'm sitting back and pondering over the fact that my career has started properly and that my loggbook now not only contains training and private flying!

Yesterday I had a turnaround on 14 minutes and a leg with 16 minutes block, 11 airborne (does that even count as a sector?!).
But yes, I enjoy it. A LOT.
