I hesitate to call anything near Henley a 'Farm' strip, but does anyone have any contact details? I need to visit a friend in Henley.

I have seen this strip a couple of times.

Cheers,

http://fly.dsc.net is always my first port of call for this...

This lists

Harpsden Park (looks from the aerial photo to be c. 500m grass) 1nm
Crazies Hill (couldn't find it on the photo) 2nm

nothing else closer than 4nm.

A quick Google gives the lat/long of Harpsden as 513114N 005359W. Virgin Balloons use it as a launch site. But I can't find a name/address...

That said, the following applied for planning permission for 'hobbies buildings' and appear to own the Park, if not the airfield:

Mr & Mrs R Spiers
Harpsden Park
Harpsden
HENLEY-ON-THAMES
Oxon
RG9 4AX

(amazing what fly.dsc.net and Google can do!)

Should you not be able to fly into the strip , White Waltham is very close by aapprox 5-6 miles south

And I happen to know there is a good vinyard at Crazies Hill, should you be able to stop for a tasting ...

Didn't know there was still a strip at Crazies Hill?

Surely Crazies Hill was a wartime airfield only like Cock Marsh just east of Marlow. There was another strip at Luxters Farm but it's a very tricky one due to its slope ie takeoff downhill/land uphill and to hell with the wind direction.

You'll be better off landing at WW and getting a cab or a lift. It's only ten minutes away.
