The sport aviation fraternity is strong on Lower Eyre Peninsula and today witnessed a great fly-in of 50 odd aircraft at a popular airstrip close to Port Lincoln.
The day concluded with a friendly dinner and entertainment.
However less than an hour ago the throng were stunned to witness the great JJ depart form a narrow unlit runway, lined with aircraft for the first 100m into a completely unlit area with powerlines in the vicinity. What a f**kwit.
And more importantly what a sorry advocate for responsible sport aviation.

It is a big shame when someone with his "credentials" does something like this. I suspect in his case this is not an isolated instance.

His credibility took a large tumble with his South Pole (Antarctica) debacle. After being refused permission to land there he decided to go anyway on the premise he was attempting to fly from New Zealand to South America but due to "unforseen head winds" he had to "divert" to Antarctica. Any pilot with his experience (knowing that Antarctica was out of bounds) would have had PNR and ETP points sorted out and updated a he went along to avoid having to land at Antarctica. Then he had the gall to try and accuse the New Zealand base at Scott Base of being unhelpful when he turned up unexpectedly.
