New Royal Navy Aircraft Carriers to be made of Lego

The Ministry of Defence confirmed to day that the new Royal Navy Aircraft Carriers would be made of Lego in order to save money.
Gordon Brown has recently praised new lego pfi projects, and there are to be a number of new Lego Hospitals and Schools. The Chancellor has also announced that the new Olympic Stadium in East London, which was to be made of meccano, will also now be made of Lego.

Raised rivets in certain areas is quite old-science: I recall during my Tech Training days at RAF Halton (Late 1970’s) that air-speed and handling improved with a mixture of both Flush and Mush rivets in certain locations. This could have been on the Spitfire, but not having worked on them I can’t confirm, and just starting another bottle of Speckled Hen could be ballix.:ok:

It would appear Lego may have fallen into the same trap as the MoD - insufficient deck for resident aircraft.

I suspect the Lego fix may be easier...

I've seen nose hair and ear hair, but never helmet hair. Must be a bit of a turn off for the opposite sex.

I assume those carrier photo's are actual size as well, that should save a few bob.

I bet as they are being built you will see a load of blokes standing round the instructions scratching their heads. I also hope the contract allows for at least 6 bits to be left over at the end.

Sadly that's the last LEGO Aircraft Carrier that will be built in the UK. All future contracts will go to LEGO (France).

The future of the much awaited LEGO Typhoon is also in doubt for a number of issues;

1. The noseleg rarely sticks to the cockpit brick and a number have collapsed at inoppotune moments.
2. The design team cannot agree on whether Customer 2 actually wants one or 2 seats.
3. Apparently LEGO (Global) have sold the second batch of UK destined kits to the highest bidder, in a move that effectively tells UK customers where to get off.
