SASless...., excellent article - good post. Very interesting to read a more extensive account of this aircraft and its crews, and the difficulties faced by such an advanced (in its day) airframe/power plant. Even today, very little around that could touch this ac.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading about the old 'sled'
I used to know many of the aircrew when 'det 4 were based over here at Mildenhall, alas lost touch now. Happy days
