Many years ago at RAF Biggin Hill (as was) when they had the real Hurricane & Spitfire outside St Georges Chapel in frony of each aircraft there was a small stone plinth with a metal plaque on it detailing the dedication of the aircraft, and the date of the ceremony. Anybody know what became of the plaque from the Hurricane? I know the whereabouts of the one from the Spit, this was removed at the same time as the aircraft.
On the same theme apparently there is a historical society starting up in the area with the aim of perpetuation the memory of the station, can anybody provide any details please.
Many thanks.
