Anton,

It is 'Cattar'; 'Cutter/Cudder' is what the septics call it.

Oggers,

Given the level of activity in the region of late, I fear you may be deluged with responses. Do you have a specific question about the place?

The most accurate English estimate is something halfway between "cutter" and "gutter." It's not "KUH-tar," the pronunciation that has become the standard among TV newscasters.

Figure that one out ... :p

it's all here at ..... http://www.slate.com/id/2074824/

The problem with the quote is that it comes from a Septic. Ask any self-respecting Qatari, and they will tell you that the Septics can't pronounce arabic words for toffee.

Anton beat me to it. But apart from that I got 'accepted' during the last QEAF rotary recruitment drive and wondered if anyone here has recent experience.

He's got it, I think he's got it, even down to the downtown Doha dialect. Well done that man!

That camel's all puckered up and ready. What were you doing snogging a camel hobie? Bad as that in Kwaytar is it? :p
