Well I just got called last night for a class date starting April 22, 2006. I was really hoping for NY since I live in PA, but I hope I'll get JFK before I'm done with training.. Question is how hard is it to commute on the oneworld pass? how are the trip out of LAX? I'm guessing LAX-ANC-VHHH and back. Last but not least how often can my wife visit me in Hong Kong? Thanks for the help...

joepilot,
I will be leaving NY on the 22nd of April to start class on the 24th. Is this the class you are in? As far as your wife, she can come with you and stay the entire time. You just have to pay for the ticket. One way on CX - JFK to HKG is about 700USD. My wife is coming with me for the whole time.

AADriver. I can sincerely advise you to not take your wife with you for the whole course. The CX training system will come as a shock, and you will find every ounce of your energy used just to concentrate on the tasks at hand. A wife can become a big distraction during this time, and that is something that you can't afford to have happen. CX's training is very rigorous (no US airline course even comes close...), and the failure rate is reasonably high. I would rethink your decision...

It seems we are all in the same class AA and Bell, I called and ask about my wife and was told I can get an ID90 on CX but my wife will come later. I'll see you guys in HK....AA are you on CX 831 on April 22 from JFK? I'll probably see you there if you are. Are there more guys here in the class with us?

Joe,
I'll see you on the 22nd on CX831. I don't think Bell1st is in our class though. He said he starts the license conversion on the 9th of April. So he must be a class ahead.
