Any one like to call in the world renouned Stalybridge Station Buffet on Friday 17th March, St Patricks Day for a few pints of whatever takes your fancy?

Cos I'm flying in from Spain. Mr and Mrs Lexxy, anna and Phoenix so far attending, as is laserNigel, if he can find a train!

The venue is in the buffet bar on Stalybridge Station, where a number of quality real ales are sold......and if you want to you can watch the trains! You can also arrive and leave by one if you so wish.

Send my love to the old station where I used to change trains in my youth. The only politically active rebel group I ever joined was Friends of Stalybridge Station in the campaign to keep the buffet and bar open.

From the schooldays of taking the train to Stockport and then round to Stalybridge to connect with the York train, and then the postgraduate days of living in Saddleworth and travelling from Greenfield to Piccadilly, it brings back memories.
