I am little on the large side in regards to size :sad: and was think can anyone on here tell me what size the insode of a PA38 is compared to for example.

PA38 same size as a PA28

or

PA38 same size as a C150

the problem is i don't know anyone who has a PA38 near me to try out and see if it will be a good fit or a snug fit.:ugh:

Its roughly between the two, but without the backseat room of a Cherokee. The LH seat moves up as you slide it forward - the rails are on a slight upslope. Not much headroom if you're tall in the body. Not quite as wide as a PA28, perhaps a couple of cm wider than a 150.
Ex. flight visibility, snappy precise controls, little elevator effect below about 50 on takeoff, will stall abruptly, and truly flat spin readily if you let it.
Not much prop clearance/small wheels=smooth airstrips only.
overall considered a good trainer. I liked flying it but the structure doesn't always inspire confidence.(Just have a look over the back and watch the tail moving in a spin!)

My mate is huge but he got into a PA38 quite well. I flew one a few times and I never felt confident in it. I am quite large and I flew with someone larger. It is a bit more roomy in the Warrior but it wasn't as intimate as a 152 which I find really tight.

I fly pa38s quite regularly and they are far roomier than the pa28 or c150, you aren't shoulder to shoulder with the other person and you have very good vis.

My first 20 odd hours were in PA38's. Found there to be much more room than a 150...

Don't forget, two largish folk and full fuel and a C152 is probably close if not overloaded. I'm not sure what the story is on a C150 or PA38 - probably similar or worse, I'd guess.

Worth doing the sums just to give yourself something else to worry about! :}

My 'typical' PA38 is 1234lbs empty. Add 2 14 st people (392lbs) leaves 44ibs or 6 imp. gals. 2 12 st people leaves room for another 8 gals.
