Hi, I have a wireless router connected into my main PC via a network cable.
I can also surf the net wirelessly from my Pocket PC using this router.
I have now set up a second PC and with a wireless USB network adaptor (connected to my wireless router) I want to be able to use the internet on that PC as well.
I've set it up and the second PC detected the existing broadband network, asked me for the network key, when I enetered it it says now connected etc, it even tells me the signal strenght is very good etc but I still can't access the internet on that computer. When I open IE and type any address it says down at the bottom of the page opening page http://etc etc but the page never opens and eventually I get the error message screen.
I'v tried playing around with the connection settings in IE options but to no avail.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Its an Eircom broadband connection by the way....

Hope this helps.
I sometimes have the same problem if I switch off both the kids PCs and my laptop at the same time, the main PC stays on. As units are switched on they auto allocate themselves an IP address, if the laptop is the last to switch on it might give itself an IP address the same as one of the PCs, in this case the wireless connection to the main PC all looks fine but it will not connect to the internet.
Try start>connect to>show all connections>left click wireless network connection and check the IP address on the left. If you want to change it right click and select repair, takes a few seconds and it should allocate itself a new IP address.................works for me anyway!
Hope it helps, best of luck.

Thanks for the reply Roach, I've just come back from dinner and tried again (don't ask me what exactly I tried) but its suddenly all working fine now. It may well be a similar scenario to yours, I'll try your suggestion if it happens again (assuming the kids let me near it again).
Thanks for your time and help.
