View Full Version : Best place to sell an aeroplane?

I've sold a couple of "mission specific" aerobatic aircraft in the UK over the past 18 months but am now cleaning out the hangar and have a gorgeous 182RG that needs a new home.

The aircraft (low hours a/f and eng, fantastic G430 panel, wx radar, etc) will be repainted in the new owners chosen scheme and come with a new annual (N reg).

Given the dog eat dog feeding frenzy that ensued when I advertised my Tiger Moth for sale with Pilot mag, have any of you folk had any luck with websites?

If so, which particular ones?

Thanks

What price are you looking for, out of curiosity?

I sold my share on www.thehangar.co.uk pretty quickly, and it's free.

One tip - if you can afford an aeroplane, you can afford a digital camera. Why do people place adverts without pictures???

Because if you're running out of money, you sell everything else before you part with the aeroplane! ;)

http://ukga.com/ is also free, so you can put it on a couple of sites - I think a donation is in order though if you sell it through their site.:ok:

1st place

http://www.thehangar.co.uk/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds.pl

2nd place

http://www.barnstormers.com/

Then try the UK mags.

buyaplane and barnstormers are a bit American biased IMHO, agree the Hangar first, but would then go to ukga myself - Stick it on as many sites that are free as you can.:ok:

What's wrong with a dog eat dog frenzy when you're the seller?

The more excited you get them, the better the final price!
