Darwin VFR ops

Dumb question time.

I've never been to Darwin, and need some help with VFR ops.
Looking at the VTC there are 5 VFR routes, of which #2, #3, #4 & #5 seem to be inbound only.

Are there any preferred routes or procedures for VFR outbounds ?

The ERSA is not a lot of help in this regard.

Have been flying around in Darwin for a while and no the VFR routes are hardly used. Only when the radar is off line.

If you are planning to fly into darwin then plan direct to the field, and if you are planning to fly out, then plan to your destination direct.

Good to see nothing has changed! I think the main thing is to make sure you PLAN to avoid any possible delays. Sometimes it can get busy on Clearance Delivery and a plan will always get processed before pop-up details.
