this maybe a stupid question :confused: but do the flight crew have tv screens in the cockpit to be able to watch some IFE to ease the bordom during long haul flights?
if not how do they pass the time?
i've heard stories of pilots putting the seatbelt sign on and faking turbulence just after dinner has been served, keeping the sign on and seeing how long it takes for the passengers to start complaining about not being able to go for a pee

Nope no IFE up front, so its playstation mini, sodoku, Part A/B (tech stuff), calling in the female cabin crew one at a time for a mock porn-star interview (my personal favourite:E ), eye spy, telling lies about ones pulling prowess, farting, paper scissors rock, and all things that waste time:}

Since when do the pax take the slightest notice of the seatbelt sign other than for take off and landing?

What seat belt sign would that be then? I can't see any from where I'm standing in the aisle? (see thread regarding Italian pax on FR) :p

On long-haul you'll often see flight crew take a portable tv into the cockpit. Guess they must plug it into the cigarette lighter for power.

Its a cigarette lighter in a car, but a cigar lighter in an aeroplane :eek:

When bored, I usually play 'hide and seek' with my F/O amazing places to hide on a 74 f/d. He has to count to 50 before he can start looking. It helps if one is double jointed.

Don't you ever play Tetris on the PFD - you don't have to be double jointed for that and its much more fun.

I only fly little aeroplanes and we have to manage with board games when we get bored - the travel ones are best, as you can fold them up for landing or stow them safely in turb.
