Morning gents,

I am looking at doing a few relocation flights mainly within europe.

As I have limited experience flightplanning in this region, I would appreciate some help wrt flightplanning.

- What would be an efficient/ fast way to obtain approach charts for different airports in different countries?
I am aware of the Jeppview subscription service, that is however VERY expensive for 1-2 flights. Are there any viable alternatives?

regards

No 1 AIDU RAF sells to civil users. Very very reasonable prices.

For Europe there is a series of SEVEN spiral bound FLIPS as well as the customary punch-hole plates.

They produce en-route charts on good quality paper and the "usual" reference books similar in appearance ot Aerads but laid out differently.

Look 'em up on the net.

Sorry, but I´m having difficulty finding anything resembling approach plates on the "No 1 AIDU RAF"

I´m looking for a source from which to download approach plates (at a cost) for the route of flight, is that possible??

thnx

Jeppessen can provide a CD ROM with the plates for a specified geographical area which you can then print off and use later.

Thnx for the reply, I am aware of the Jeppview (Jeppesen) option, but its way too expensive for 1-2 flights. Does anybody know of a pay-pr-download option??

All approach plates for main Airports are available free via each countries AIP service. In the UK Its on the NATs Web site at;-
http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/login.jsp
You Just have to register.

Now the only problem is finding the ones for the EU.
I have found AIP for countries by google search.

Suggest you call the UK AIP service at uk dial code +44(0) 020 8745 3464
and ask for AIP support, they can either give you the links or a contact Number.
Additionally try JAA at

PicMas,

You can get individual sets of plates from Jeppesen (01293 842400), at about £9 a set. Unfortunately, they don't supply them as downloadable so it's 3 days to your door, which is a bit pants in this day and age.

Also, it's a one off service so check currency before you use them again a while later...

Not to be pedantic, but it's €9 per set. Delivery via standard mail is €6, though they can send via a carrier for a surcharge. I got my charts in 3 days if I remember correctly :ok:

With an outlet in England, you would think that Jeppesen would just charge us good old £'s. One day I'll be European, but I hope its not for a long time! :)
