Was anyone else surprised to see a fairly normal looking OBL courtesy of Al Jazeera on the Beeb last night? Because of his recent camera shyness, I kind of suspected that he'd been seriously injured or better!

His recent message was audio only, so it was probably stock footage from a previous tape.

Suggest we don't give the little $hit the oxygen of publicity...
It won't be long before he sees the pointy end of a Hellfire missile coming his way - and a millisecond or so later he'll get to learn that there are no hndred virgins waiting for him where he's going, just some dude with a pointy tail and toasting fork.

I read somewhere ( think on the 'Army means') that a prominent islamic scholar contends that there's been a mistranslation and the 'reward ' for suicide bombing is actually 72 raisins, not 72 virgins. Something to do with the Arabic words for 'raisin' and 'virgin' being similar.

I believe the confusion arises from the phrase '72 black eyed ones', which may mean the well-trailed virgins, or could be a reference to Black Olives.
I think of this whenever olives are served and I wonder what the murderous, lascivious mugs who've just killed themselves, and lots of other people too, say to Allah when He presents them with a plate of olives and a few cocktail sticks.

Had a quick listen to it- it wasn't anywhere near as good as his early stuff and it's all starting to sound the same now IMHO. I for one won't be buying the Greatest Hits CD.

What is it calibrated in? A scale of '0' to '39' rates neither degrees nor radians so I'm content to show my ignorance. Perhaps a scholar would also advise on what paradise might offer the female walking bomb? More olives?
