A canard homage site I frequent advises me the Proteus is heading for Darwin for some research works, should be getting there about now. Anybody know anything about it? Mike Melvill on board apparantly:8

Departed Cairns this afternoon. Last heard heading west, cleared to FL470. Bloody ugly it is too, but everyone came out to look and took piccies ...

Came back to Cairns the same day, something about the weather being too rough enroute. Sitting on the ground here in cairns, no news on when it will depart.
