Is there anyone else getting fed up with this?

I have been on eBay for over five years but I'm thinking of jacking it in because of this fairly recent obsession they seem to have developed.

Fair enough if I want to bid, but I get taken to their https signin site (takes ages to load on dialup) if I want to look at My eBay, watch something in same, send seller a message, save a favourite search, etc.. Why? It can happen two or three times in one session and, even worse, sometimes takes me to 'watched item for guests' where I again have to attempt to sign as a regd. user.

I always tick the 'keep me signed in' box, and all pages show me as logged in, but it doesn't stop this nonsense.

I agree, the service has deteriorated. I use the U.S. service and U.K. service and the U.S. was better I'm sorry to say.

Have you tried the latest edition of the E-Bay Toolbar it seems to have stopped the constant requests for password etc.

I agree that it used to be a constant irritation.

Easy peasy! Download firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/) , it will remember your login everytime and passwords if you tell it too when it asks, you just click the sign in button on your screen and thats it. It is also faster, and doesn't pick up a fraction of the adaware the IE does.

Thanks, but I've been using Firefox since it was a beta release! Yes, it does remember it all, but that's not the point - I don't want to go there in the first place, especially 'eBay for guests' where it often goes so I have to redirect it for a double slow page load.

Don't really want a toolbar but may give it a try.

Just had a look at the toolbar and the system requirements list only IE as browser!

Wouldn't you know it.

If you log in to eBay.com instead of eBay.co.uk there is a useful little tool in the top right corner called "Live Help" that UK eBay customers generally don't know about -
It can be very useful as an alternative to the automated e-mail replies if you need to ask a question.

Now if LOTS of their customers used this facility to ask your Sign In question,
eBay might just get the message and do something about it :ok:
