Move to Emerald. Get a job in pub or the mines at night. Become a known face with a good reputation. Hard for some of us :)

You need to work in a mine to afford to live in Emerald. Accommadation is hard to get and expect to pay upwards of $300 per week for a basic house or unit.

Good luck

"..expect to pay upwards of $300 per week for a basic house or unit."

With emphasis on the "upward of..." - if you can find a place to rent!!!

Thanks to all who have replied.

One Eye Chimp - thanks for that.

Do they require anything else - MECIR etc? And would they be willing to go below 800 TT?

Probably would, but you would only be flying a Cherokee 6 out to Longreach and back, at least to begin with. Seems to be mostly bush work so the CIR isn't vital on the singles. Nice town but you will need a second job to survive, get a RSA (responsible server of alcohol) certificate so you can get a job in a pub as well.

Easy town to find work in with all the mines around, good pay if you can get a job at one.

Company has changed hands.
Long term operator now retired.
New owner/chief pilot Alec Mercer, used aircraft salesman ex AF.
Not sure of aircraft types.
Maybe changing name to Central Airlines, new sign in terminal.
Suspect slim pickings for casual pilots, but don't really know.
Expensive living costs in EML.
Flying hours nothing like the past.
