High spec computer Win XP Pro. A few problems developed with Office so I decided to re-install or repair. It seemed to go OK, but trying to open any Office application resulted in the following error message -

"The application failed to initialise properly (0xc0150002)"

Anyone any ideas? I am loath to uninstall and re-install for fear of losing data (especially non e-mail data in Outlook).

Visit Microsoft Knowledge Base and enter >>> 0xc0150002 <<< as the search key. This lists a couple of leads to follow up on that should help you. Replace the search string with the one above.

Thanks for the info, guys. Turns out that you were correct - after problems with XP, I did a lot of repair type work. It was after the last that the Office problems began.

I followed your links and added the updates which fixed the prob.

Well done, and thanks.

Oh, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
