Just finished depositing the Dad of Oz on said harlot flight back to BN. When returning to my vehicle of motivation at approximately 2053local an "Air Raid Siren" sounded off! As there was an impending storm of great theatrics about to descend upon the place, I surmized that this could be a warning to clear the apron as you are about to be fried by several millions of volts of static electricity....heaven knows why it is called static, it was moving at the speed of ..well.. lightning. Would I be correct in my supposition?

Had the same happen when I was in ML for an AsA interview last year.
Waiting for my return flight to AD, and, just after checkin the siren went off.
The lightning passed relatively quickly, and planes were soon landing again. Unfortunately the baggage handlers didnt want to get wet, leading to an hours delay.
Wish I was up in the tower to see that storm come through.
:ok:

Yep - spikey hairdo alert.

Have to say last night was the first time I've actually heard it work correctly.

Wailing siren for vacate tarmac, steady siren for 1min for all clear. Can be hard to hear though, I believe Brisbane has amber flashing lights dotted around the joint too as a visual warning.

Westerly change hit with a bang last night.
