Hey Guys and Gals,

If you hold a current IR and have done a night rating but have not flown at night for over 90 days. Do you still need to comply with the 3 circuits in 90 days rule to carry passengers??

Lasors States

“The holder of a licence that does not include a valid instrument rating (aeroplane) shall not act as pilot-in-command of an aeroplane carrying passengers at night unless, during the previous 90 days, at least one take-off and landing has been
completed at night.”

So am I reading it correct??

Yes, you are reading it correctly. No need to maintain any night currency to carry pax at night if you hold a current IR.

And the first one of the season is a bit of a shock to the system and a complete bastard.

If you want to impress the pax I would go and have a shot by yourself thus avoiding the normal swearing during the first attempt.
