My Brother in Law goes to Caragh Lake in Ireland a lot because of his work and he told me that at certain times if you are in the right position you can see an old WW2 a/c on the lake bed??
I can assure you that he was SOBER at the time but I have Never heard of it. Does anybody know which a/c this may be.
I know a lot of German and Allied a/c ended up in Ireland in WW2.

Several crash sites documented in that area including this from an FW200:

References: here (http://www.skynet.ie/~dan/war/crashes.htm)

or here:

There is no doubt that there was a Luftwaffe crash on Mt. Brandon or that area. If you look at my webpage linked below.

The aircraft was Fw200 F8+KH of I/KG40 crewed by
Kurt Mollenhauer
Dr. Eric Kruger
FW Ludwig Wochner
SFW Robert Beumer
Unt. Hans Bell
Gef. Kurt Kyck

It hit what may be described as Faha Ridge on Mt. Brandon. I'm unfortunatly not 100% with the geography of the area.

The other three aircraft in the Brandon area are:
28 Jul 43 BOAC Sunderland G-AGES
22 Aug 43 RAF Sunderland DD848
20 Dec 43 RAF Wellengton HF208
