I have read of an R44 accident at Sywell yesterday, Thursday 1st December.

It states -

'G-ODHG Robinson R44 lifting off from Sywell apparently lost control and ended up on it's side on the Sloane ramp this morning. Pilot shaken but OK.
Damage includes bent rotor, cabin, right skid and tail boom'.

My R44 and my PPLH are both less than a month old.

Reading these reports scares the hell out of me because it could have been me.

I had hoped to fly yesterday but decided that the weather here near Banbury wasnt good enough for my limited experience.

That's true of every report of every accident involving every aircraft type and every pilot. It wouldn't matter if it was something you'd owned and flown for zillions of years, it could still have been you, or me, or any of us. That's why we read reports, and learn from them.

Glad no-one was hurt, and fly safe, any of you who are out there in this horrible wx we're having. :(
