Hi all. My Belkin modem router keeps dropping the line on me. It has four lights at the front, pwr syn data wlan. Almost at random, the data light will go off and I can't conect to the internet.

What I have to do is unplug the mains lead going into it for a few seconds and plug it back in again. After about 60 seconds or so it will go back on and I can then connect.

The length of time it connects for is variable, sometimes a few minuites go by and it goes off, sometimes it can be on for hours, there is no set pattern to this.

I have serched the Belkin site for info but no joy. Does anyone here know what the problem could be?

Don't know your Brit system, but here in Oz that would be indicative of being at the limit of the allowable distance from your exchange if your service is copper wire or a crappy line, either in your telco's system or in your house.

BRL, have you spoken to your ISP about this?
