If someone can help me, this are my doubts:

I have an FAA PPL SE, JAA PPL SE ME and Night Rating, 150 hours 115PIC, doing ATPL distance Learning.( under JAR-FCL UK/CAA).

I was thinking about doing FAA IR and then do the conversion in one school in Spain, but they say that iīve to do an FAA IR with ME, my question is having already a JAA ME rating should i have to do as they say?

The other question is, that school said that i can do the complete JAA IR course there, but if i want to do the CPL modular is not possible, can anyone explain me all this?

They said that my ATPLīs are done in the UK so they cant do the
CPL course but they can do the IR?

Are we not all JAA countries under the same rules, and the main goal for JAA is to put everyone on the same boat?

Thanks for any reply

ATPL exams and CPL flying course are two sides of the same coin, hence you need to do both under the same jurisdiction unless the ATPL exams are specifically recognised by the Authority which will issue your licence. Ireland and UK have recently agreed to a reciprocal agreement to recognise each others exam results.

An IR is a Rating, therefore can be undertaken in any JAA state, and is seperate to your licence wrt country of issue.

Can't help with the ME issue I'm afraid.

Hello!
Yes you can...I`m doing excatly that now, converting my FAA IR SEP into an JAA MEIR....I also had an JAA CPL MEP when leaving the us! Guess your JAA licences are issued in the UK!?You can do the course in all of the JAR approved states, at an jar approved school - and send the necessary papers to the CAA in the UK,and they will issue the licence...
Look in the LASORS for hour requirement i.e.....I believe it was section F under Instrument!?
Happy Flying,

Sorry - missread your question...Thought you had an JAA CPL ME=) Dont know how it will work out in your case...
