The guys at GAPAN say you can't. They say it is the way your brain is wired up. I have to say I disagree. I don't think there is any such thing as hand-eye coordination per se, as this implies that if I have it, I have some unquantifiable attribute that somebody else simply doesn't posses, which is just another way of saying that nobody really understands it.

I reckon keeping tabs on an ILS whilst keeping a good scan going is as much a skill as getting good at footy (foot-eye). You develop techniques in both. It just so happens that some people just know what to do without much hinting. Others, need to be taught and so must (initally at least) practice harder (much in many cases).

For example, I also reckon that if you go and do the GAPAN aptitude test with the concept of "anticipation" firmly ensconsed in your mind you will do much much better than if you turned up on the day without giving it any thought at all. Is that hand-eye coordination, or is it simply understanding the problem?

How to improve it? Not sure. Playing with flight simulators or even an online Quake fragfest surely can't do any harm!

Jamie,
There are certain websites for young men like you where you can improve your hand eye co-ordination.

Nuts (http://www.nuts.co.uk/)

FHM (http://www.fhm.com/)

Loaded (http://www.loaded.co.uk/)

There also many many magazines that you can buy as well, although if you have trouble reaching them then ask an adult to reach up and get you one!! ;)

Hmm, I not sure you committed enough for this game. I see CAP 696. 697 and 698 are now online. Should be more than sufficient :}

Take up juggling. Must be good for improving H/E coordination.

Also, and this is a bit wild for the first few minutes....reverse the axis on your mouse, and then play a game on your PC...even try it with a flight simulator program if you have one.
