McDonnell Model 119

Designed for a 1956 USAF contract which was won by the Lockheed Jetstar. The civil version was to be known as the McDonnell 220. Only one was built and resembled a midget B 707 (4 engines in pods). Thus far only found a brief history and a few photos through Google. Anyone have a source of further info – technical, scale drawings, cutaway drawings etc?

Looks like Durand held onto it for quite a while, because he sold it in 2003. Had all the paperwork and drawings as well:

Not exactly a detailed source but the McDonnell 119 is in the 1960 Observer's Book of Aircraft. ;)

Aaah yes, one of the best looking airplanes ever built IMHO.

After losing the UCX competition to the Lockheed Jetstar (aaah again) the sole 119 was rebranded the 220 in hopes of a civil market.
