I have AOL broadband at home and want to know if I can send outlook express email messages from my work account via the AOL broadband link at home?

IIRC, yes, as long as you have an email account OTHER than AOL. AOL are merely providing the connection to b/band for you, but it used to be the case that you cannot send AOL emails via OE.

Details are found at the AOL postmaster site but to help you on your way look here (http://postmaster.info.aol.com/imap/express.html) at the official site or here (http://members.aol.com/adamkb/aol/mailfaq/imap/) for the unofficial site :ok:

I don't use a windows based OS but on the mac I can send and receive email with mac mail using my aol account :O

As an experiment I have just configured outlook express, (virtual PC on a mac) using the AOL instructions and was able to read and send emails. So it does work on a windows based OS (both on 2000 and XP) and definitely when using mac OSX.
