I don't know; you spend all day enjoying yourself on some sort of standby somewhere near the Atlantic coast, and then go and spoil it all by recklessly enjoying yourself at ridiculously low level. Sheeeeshhh:ok:

That's not low.

I know someone who flew a lot lower than that over the water. He's dead, mind. :ugh:

You are low flying when you have a negative reading on the RA.

If the Buccaneers flew that high they'd get a nosebleed....

I heard that those Buccaneer types often had to pull up to put the undercarriage down.

A friend toldme once that one of the AF checks was to look for tree debris on the airframe!

Buccs at Lossie often had tree strikes with associated ferns and leaves in the intakes and wood pidgeons were common, always wondered if they had been happily sitting in their nest minding their own business when....a free ride in a Spey 101 was delivered..

I heard a rumour of a Buccaneer on Red Flag or some similar US exercise that suffered an 'eagle strike'. Analysis of the damage hinted that the bird had been sitting on a cactus at the time as the Bucc's leading edges had cactus needles sticking out of it. Not sure how true this strory is mind...

"he really flies by the seat of his pants!"

Actually, I heard he puts his flies by the seat of someone else's pants..... :suspect:

I hope he didn't really fly with Mr Beachyhead - that really would make me sick :E

Does confirm what many have said about "Top Gun" as a movie though :ok:

there was no need for confirmation, i mean, the volleyball scene....there was no need what so ever....having said that, the film always makes me laugh. They kept the boys from "stoke on trent" happy and made people laugh, perfect combination if you ask me. Bring on another homomachoistic flick!!:ok: :8

From the amount of flap, looks more like the Mustang is doing a wheels up. And from the perfect positioning of the photographer, more likely pre-meditated?

The Sukhoi mate is clearly barking mad.:)

Mustang was indeed a pre-meditated gear up landing Gainesy, so far as I can recall both main gear legs refused to come out to play! I think damage was relatively light.

Saw a pic years ago of a Greek PA-31 with Q tipped prop blades - except they hadn't been done professionally by Colemill, but by way of a low pass (allegedly!). At least one tip was bent forwards. :}

I wasn't on board, but there is a well-known story of the Shak that was doing radar homings to the buoy in 807. The radar op called 'radar u/s' just as the crew called on top 'now, now, now' only to find that the aircraft had hit the buoy and knocked off the radar 'dustbin' sitting beneath the aircraft!

Kind regards to all
