Picture the scene. A production line of C-47s in 1944, two aircraft with their serial numbers almost in sequence - only one other in between. Eventually they are passed to the RAF and take on sequential RAF serials.

Picture another scene on 13 November 2005. The aircraft are reunited at long last at North Weald.

One C-47 belongs to Aces High and has come to NW from Dunsfold for its annual. The other, newly imported from the US, is now based in Liverpool - N5831B "Drag Em Oot". It arrived at NW yesterday afternoon after performing a poppy drop and is also there for its annual.

Drag Em Oot arrives in style

Lands and backtracks to join its former comrade...

Then into the hangar. But first a photo opportunity with one of the resident C-54s

Apparently Drag Em Oot first served with the 101st Airborne out of Greenham Common. The new owner has tracked down the pilot in the US who flew it on D-Day.

It would be nice if some of the RAF pilots who later flew these two could also be found.
