View Full Version : European Air Charter
London Jets 11th Nov 2005, 09:59 Heard that EAAC have made the majority of their workforce redundant again, any truth in it or is it just a rumour?

Please, DO NOT make multiple posts on PPRuNe. Your other thread has been deleted.
Engineer 11th Nov 2005, 11:09 Topic already posted here (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=197953&highlight=European+Air+Charter) so with two sources there may be some truth in the rumour, unless you also posted that under a pseudonym :E
Basil 11th Nov 2005, 11:12 Corsair cancelled their contract and EAAC B747 operations have ceased.
B747 crews laid off with the exception of some trainers who are offered per diem rate to make use of the EAAC TRTO for 3rd party training.
Boss Raptor 11th Nov 2005, 12:04 747's rumoured sold last week - to Russia Transaero?
jetstream7 11th Nov 2005, 13:13 EAAC B747 operations have ceased
Thought there was still some limited adhoc / acmi work taking place - one of the 747s has been to Jo'burg recently (may still be in that neck of the woods?)
Basil 11th Nov 2005, 13:59 That's the last flight - allegedly.
Intheno 11th Nov 2005, 17:09 Mr S has done it again, dropped his hard working, loyal staff in the s*#t.
I was made redundant and from my inside knowledge, all efforts are being put towards Ozjet. The 747's are to be sold. The flight to JNB is the last. It would appear all the 737 229's are moving to Australia, leaving 1 737 at BOH. Eaac may acquire some more of Ryanair's scrap but hey, what's new?....Once a scrap dealer, always a scrap dealer!!!!
I believe some office staff have also been made redundant, alongside engineers but mostly crew this time.
Heatseeker 11th Nov 2005, 17:15 Ah, so that's where he gets his financial backing from.
Selling the family silverware.
It will be interesting to see how Ozjet goes. Local betting around here is six months.

surely not 11th Nov 2005, 17:48 I confirm that there is an EAAC 747 at Jo'burg. Apparently it is tied in with the motor race around Sandton City and is an operation for Stoddardt.
Sad news if this is indeed the end for many staff at BOH. I hope that they are able to find alternative employment quickly otherwise it will be a miserable Christmas for them.
Escape_Slide 12th Nov 2005, 11:30 I think there are going to be problems with aircraft seizures to pay inland revenue.
surely not 12th Nov 2005, 12:03 Are the crew being offered to TransAero or just the planes?
Basil 12th Nov 2005, 14:26 ES,
I wouldn't think so. The a/c don't belong to EAAC.
EAAC - Corporate risk but no assets.
European Skybus - Assets but little corporate risk.
Good running Ltd Cos, isn't it
London Jets 12th Nov 2005, 18:37 Please can someone explain why I have been told when I have only posted once on this topic. The other post which

"Engineer" seems to think I posted this when it wasn't done by me and I was not aware of it being on pprune.

Engineer 12th Nov 2005, 18:58 LJ know you are an old friend (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?postid=1276924#post1276924) of EAAC. Looks like the tongue in cheek remark at the end of my post got your attention :O
surely not 15th Nov 2005, 09:55 I hear that the 747's are to be broken up, 1 at BOH the others at Kemble, and that 3 x 737's are to remain for the 2006 summer programme in the UK.
Of course this might be old news by now!!:}
ex crew 16th Nov 2005, 15:17 Hi all,
Just been to the Man crew room today to pick up my final cheque.
It's true they have laid off alot of crew at Man saying that it's due to the 747 being sold off. We were also told today that all the 737s that they have at the mo are deff being sent to Australia but, that they have purchased 2 old Ryan air 73s for England.
I think most of us expected it however, the way in which they did things wasn't exectly brillient. It's a shame. All the crew were fab but, i'm sure we'll all get other jobs. We're all experts at it now! Take care all. xxxxx
LGS6753 16th Nov 2005, 15:30 G-BDXE arrived Kemble today 1400 local.
Not much escapes Kemble these days, so it's presumably for the chop?
luddite 20th Nov 2005, 13:25 Sorry to hear the news guys. I was there. Twice.
There is life on the outside, hope you all find something soon.
Onwards and upwards!
bartelby 20th Nov 2005, 16:58 I see Ozjet starting operation on the 29th Nov....
Sticks in your throat a bit !!!

Buster the Bear 21st Nov 2005, 20:27 I understand that VH-EWR? a 146 is currently en route from Australia to Hurn to be operated by EAC.
Please correct me if I am wrong?
The All Seeing I 22nd Nov 2005, 17:44 747 at Kemble not in for breaking, just storage and may possibly be joined by another one shortly. EEAC engineers currently removing one engine.

You're wrong! :ugh:
witchway 23rd Nov 2005, 13:23 Sorry to hear that more staff have lost their jobs at EAAC or whatever it calls itself now. I was one of the many who lost their jobs in March 2004 so I can sympathise and hope you all find something soon.
Can you help me please - my computer went down big time a couple of weeks ago and have had to purchase a new one. I have lost all my email addresses and internet favourites - my fault I know should have made a note of them.
I am looking for the European Aviation employees website address the one that was set up last year when we were all made redundant. It was so helpful for keeping in touch with what was happening. If you could let me have the website address I would be very grateful.
