Currently using Yahoo for email which is a webpage based email...an absolute nightmare as I can only send emails when online.

I am wanting to use MS Outlook to send emails so I can write them out at a reasonable time and then send them at some ungodley hour!

Also would be nice for me to check them away from MS Outlook.

HELP!!!!

;)

www.virgin.net (http://www.virgin.net) Virgin.net offer pop3 mail as well as web access. When you view the mail using web access, the mail will remain on the server thus allowing you to download it later to Outlook when convenient. AFAIK, with some web based services, once you view your mail, you can't subsequently download it - (although it will still be available on the web server).

I think Virgin also offer a free facility which will allow you to forward a copy of incoming mail to an alternative address - eg your Yahoo account.

They seem to have various packages including a dial up pay as you go service.

AFAIK gmail from google offers free POP3 access, although I haven't tried it personally.

Oddly you have to pay for POP3 on yahoo.com addresses, but on yahoo.co.uk addresses it's free and works just fine, so guess which one I use.

I'm on a .co.uk address, but the missus is on a.com, and hers didn't work. Wanted to get her onto outlook and found thisYpops (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/E-mail/Mail-Utilities/YahooPOPs.shtml) and it works a treat!

I did have yahoo block my IP address for 12 hours on the first use, but that was because I was trying to download 900 emails in a oner. Since then its worked as it should.
