Well that’s it, the seasons over folks.

Duxford was fun, the company was great the light was crap. I hate the M25!

Thanks Nick. The light may have been crap, but as usual you have managed to get the perfect pictures that the rest of us who were there wished we could have done!

Actually I was taking video and it was only when I got home and reviewed what I had shot of the Red Bull Sukhoi pair that I realised what a truly extraordinary performance they had achieved. The spinning (or was it more tumbling...) horizontal 360deg turn carried out by one aircraft was something I had never seen before. Quite how a human being can tolerate all that disorientation I do not know, but it certainly made for an amazing display.

As for the rest of the show, I for one could have done with a bit less of the Lynxes; there is, sadly, only so much you can do with two helicopters, and once you've done it twice, well that's enough for me....

However everything else pales into insignificance compared to the sight and sound of seven Spitfires displaying impeccably together, and that alone was worth the price of admission.

Great photos to round off a successful and safe season in the UK.

I thought the Matadors display superb as was the Aerostars Yak benefit. All the warbird items were delightful and I certainly did not envy any of the pilots flying in what must have been awful into sun visibility right through the show. Respect, as Ali G might have said.

Jeanne Frazer stage managed another great IWM Duxford display.

Cheers,
