One of the regulars in my local pub used to be a pilot out in asia during WW2.He has asked me if I can find any information about his training etc because at the ripe old age eighty plus documents have been lost.
Here are some of his details:
David Grapes
He thinks most of his training was done at Maxwell Field with the 1st 50 SEAC.He flew the Stearman/Vultee?/ and the Harvard.Jack Dempsey the boxer gave him his Silver Wings. It would be great to hear from an America historian or someone who could just point us in the right direction.Dave has still some got the logbooks, but they are kept under lock and key and he is just interested what I could find out while based in KS.
