Hi folks,

just watched the ´catch me if you can´ movie.
I am wondering about the type of plane used for the scenes when Leonardo di Caprio and Tom Hanks return to New York.
Like in many movies, the types are different in the different scenes.
I believe the cabin scenes are done in a 707 (6 abrest seating, window shape), the landing aircraft is an A310.
For me the Aircraft used on the taxi-in scene (where Leonardo escapes from the landing gear well) looks like an CV990. (no flap track / flap hinge fairings, four wheel bogies with very narrow bogie track, single duct nacelles with highest diameter at about 80% length, asymetric thrust reverser doors) As this is a real rare aircraft today, I am wondering where you can find one which is still in such good shape and able to be towed (or maybe taxi) across an apron. Or are such scenes done in a computer today, and Leonardo climbed out of the wheel well of some aircraft rotting in the desert and the turning wheels and the background scenery have been added later ?

Does anybody know some background information about the locations and the equipment used for this movie ?

None of them where one of the few remaining 990s is known to be located.
