Back in the days when we still had a an air force bigger than a flying club:

There's the target - by that tree!

That photo brings back memories!
I had a Vulcan pass underneath me one morning in 1974 while flying West of Goose in my DHC-3 Otter on skis.
I was under 500 ft. - they were a tad lower.
Noisy beast - woke me up! Even over the noise of the P+W 1340.
Ah- the good old days!

Yep, something similar with me in a DC-3. We were tootling along at about a thousand feet between Blanc Sablon and Natashquan, enjoying the scenery on a beautiful March day, when we noticed a huge bat shadow on a lake below, going like snot. When we figured out the angle with the sun, there he was, a Vulcan down at a couple hundred feet off the trees passing underneath us. :ok:

I did a charter into Goose one day with a Queen Air, must have been 1969 or 1970. There were a half dozen Vulcans and a couple of Victors on the ramp. The Vulcans had a large missile strapped on the belly. I told the pax that picture taking wasn't allowed, but they went ahead anyway. When we entered the terminal, the first question security asked was if anyone had taken any pictures. They admitted they did, and the security guy confiscated the film. :D
