To anyone who knows anything about this government aided loan.
Is it possible for any FTO or TRTO abroad to register as an approved learning provider? (NaplesAiRCenter is).

Someone mentioned on these forums that it rules out many flight schools abroad?

Someone clear this up..

I think you'll find that the FTO/ training provider has to be (or have some association with) the UK

Orlando Flight training is/was OK as you paid via Cabair in the UK.

Naples may have a similar arrangement ..I don't know.

At any rate a CDL is granted to help you obtain a qualification which will get you a job and the Bank willwant to see some sort of business plan which gets you to that point, ie: where is the rest of the cash coming from.

If you use an overseas FTO as part of your training, you will still have to spend at least the max of a CDL here in the UK to get your IR, (I think the max loan is about £8.5k).

That said, the earlier you spend the CDL cash the better, as it is interest free untill you get a job (there is a max period). The interest after that is into loan shark territory!

Research this option well, it may not be as good as it looks. However if you can't get hold of £8k elsewhere it may be worth a go.

Good luck
