Am going on vacation to Sicily on 15 Oct for 2 weeks and would like to exercise my UK PPL - JAR - as I have done previously in Spain and Greece. The plan being to hire a 172, PA-28 or similar and take a local safety pilot who knows the local routes, procedures etc.

Have been given an email address for Aero Club Catania by Fontanarossa Airport but after 3 weeks of mailing them have had no reply.

Please does anybody have any contacts, or other suggestions so I can make contact.

Dave

Well, there are places where emailing isn't so well estabilished. I'd rather try via phone (supposed you're lucky enough to find some decent English speaker) or fax (maybe better). The Catania AeroClub website (http://www.aeroclubcatania.it/) lists both phone and fax number.

In the meantime, I'll try to get in touch with some people I know, who usually hang around there. Stay tuned.

Cheers

Got the aero club website (don't they have an mixed array of aeroplanes !) and email addresses from info at Fontanarosa Airport and telephoning was going to be an option nearer the date. Will be delighted if you can get me any more help though.

Thanks
