What's there to take you to task for.....there is nothing in your post that requires responding to.

If you were responding to Rumsfeld after he posted something here personally then there would be an issue....but not under the current circumstances.

If you disagree with the article....explain why you think it is wrong....all the ******************** and calling the man an idiot does not move us any closer to an understanding of the issues surrounding discussion.

I don't usually get involved in debates about politics, as I don't follow any of it as closely as maybe I should, but the following quote from the CNN article has me puzzled.

"The United States and its allies did not provoke the terrorists; the terrorists attacked America," he said. "There was no war in Iraq or Afghanistan when America was attacked on September 11th

Has there been any definitive proof that either the Iraqi government, or the Iraqi people were directly involved in the Sept 11th incidents?

I'm not talking about rumours or maybe's, but as Donald Rumsfeld is directly linking Sept 11th, with the war in Iraq, he must have proof of the connection.

He isn't linking them. He is simply pointing out that September 11th attacks cannot be explained by the links suggested by some people between the war in Iraq and terrorism, weakening the argument considerably.

One wonders that whilst we (the west) were out on Kosovo making albeit fairly crappy attempts to help muslims, the same were bombing embassies in Africa & potting holes at warships, ingrates.:hmm:
