It is my very sad duty to inform you of the passing of fellow forum member Steve Young, BeauMan, in a car accident on 24th July.
Whilst he didnt post here often, when he did it was worth reading

I for one dont have a memory of Steve that doesnt raise a smile, it was a honour to have known him. I have lost a very good friend.

He leaves behind a fiance Julie and a young son Haydn from a previous relationship, not to mention countless friends.

There is a condolence thread running here (http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?p=710066#post710066)

A list of all his posts is available here (http://www.pprune.org/forums/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=1990774)

So long my tail dragging surfboy friend.

Desperately saddened and shocked to hear of Steve's death - I've never met him in person, only across the ether, but I wish I had.

I first came across him as a enthusiastic Friend of The Fighter Collection - he must have tackled just about all of my convoluted competitions - I can't recall off-hand whether he ever won the coveted "Flight in a Fighter" but I certainly hope he did.

His excellent postings on PPRuNe and over on Flypast bear testament to the equanimity of the man; I never once can recall anything other than good humoured enthusiasm for aviation and I commend you to read Steve’s delightful contribution to the Rapide thread a few weeks ago.

Thinking of your family Steve, and I’ll raise a glass to your memory tonight.

Those of us privileged to have known Steve will forever be the richer for having done so, forever the poorer for his tragic loss at the early age of 36.

The banter at winter aeroplane cleaning days at Old Warden will never be quite the same again.

Bye, Steve. We'll miss you mate. :(

Terrible news. I only knew him via his postings in Pprune but he seemed a knowledgeable and decent chap. Condolences to his family. What a shame he will not be around to see the Duxford Beaufighter get air under her wings.

Steve was a thoughly good friend. So full of life, enthusiasm, respect and dignity. He gave so much of himself to others.

I'll miss him. Cleaning days at Old Warden won't be quite the same again.

Never met him but his aviation enthusiasm came through on every post. He sounded like a nice man too. So sad that he lost his life in such a way.

PPRuNe send deep condolences to his family. RIP.

I met him once at Duxford, in passing. I only remember a big grin and a happy little boy. I'm very sorry I didn't get to meet him properly.
