An old chap I know told me of a crash in Wilmslow, Cheshire, sometime in WW2. He thinks it was a parachute aircraft from nearby Ringway, and it went down behind the Riflemans pub on Moor Lane (now built up, but would have been fields then). He doesn't think there were any survivors.
Any details would be appreciated.

Sometimes, the local Fire Brigade have records on such incidents. May be worth a try.

Are you sure it was Wilmslow SSD--and not Tatton Park itself ?---seem to recall reading about one such incident in the Park or nearby at any rate. Found this link which refers to the event--hope it helps ?
