View Full Version : G8 - Martial Law in Scotland Please

Every May 1st and every time an event such as the G8 summit takes place, the same bunch of drugged up mouth-breathers come out of the woodwork to try and send westernized cities back to the stone age.

Despite their claims of a noble cause and their delusions of being righteous guerillas fighting a great evil, these crusties, urban commandos and Islington Grauniad Marxists are nothing more than anarchists. Some woolly notion of a worldwide socialist state where everyone is happy, living in peace, free to hold hands while smoking the herb, listen to pan pipes, eat lentils, wear natural fibres etc is absurd. It can never happen because communist socialism has been seen to fail and your average evil dictator isn't to keen on releasing power without a good old war. It's also ironic how many of these anti-capitalists actually buy clothes, food, drink etc, rather than manufacturing them in their own little soviet or kibbutz.

But, of course, it isn't really about fanciful pollution free worldwide tree hugging, is it. It is actually just an excuse to vandalise, destroy, kick the sh!t, assault, commit arson and any number of other criminal activities. They may dress it up as some noble campaign but it is nothing more than petty crime from people who deserve to be conscripted. "Let's smash in the window of MaccyDees, brothers, to bring an end to poverty and war!"

The reason for this rant? I just watched a news report showing film of such lowlifes dressed in black balaclavas creating road blocks, stopping members of the public in their private cars, and stoving the sh!it out of their windows and bodywork with golf clubs. I was just thinking that under the circumstances, I do not know if I would have the self control not to accelerate my 2200kg 4x4 towards them and see I they are loyal enough to the cause to take a face full of tyre tread.

Declare martial law, fit the chinnys with M134s and send those arrested to Al Qurnah. Let them spread a little anti-capitalist love around there.

How about inviting China to join the "G9" and have the next summit there? They can't be far away from being one of the world's richest countries, and with their human rights record, I'm sure they'll be very pleased to welcome the protesters.

Assuming you are referring to the masked helmeted anarchist bunch (not the humble copper) I couldn't agree with you more. However I'd still defend the right of those, possibly green behind the ears, individuals to protest peacefully. Fuller responses from both sides possibly belong on another forum?:D

Did you have any doubt, Rog, that I was referring to the anarchists rather than the bobbies? I fully support peaceful protest but, as expected, much of the protest is anything but peaceful, as in my example. As for the use of this forum, well, as the papers have reported, RAF Chinooks are providing air support, so many of my colleagues are amongst the action. Personally, I think a few Harriers would be in order for some close air support.

Fg Off Max Stout,

What on earth do you want Martial law declared for? There are more than sufficient powers to deal with this sort of thing, as you can see from the news coverage of what is going on.

No Max, I had no doubt, but there are those who would have been very quick to make the anarchists "political" point. I live on a Peninsula bounded by Faslane, and was affected by the Peace Camp and fellow travellers protest last Monday. I was delighted to see a security presence which broached no nonsense from the assembled gaggle. Result was a relatively good natured colourful protest and nobody was reported as being hurt. Also meant I got a fine game of golf with an unexpectedly off duty submariner.
See your Chinnoks et al overhead, very nice too, but would also like to hear some heavy sound of freedom as well. :E

The "other Forum" was Jet Blast by the way.

My brother in law is a paramedic in Lausanne and had to deal with these idiots that were bound across the lake to Evian. They caused absolute carnage all round the lakeside towns.

Several amusing stories have come out, my favourite being the swiss policeman who found some rope tied across from one side of a bridge and going over the other side. He cut it, not realising it had one of the scum attached to the other end. Said lowlife then proceeded to fall about 40 ft into a rocky stream, breaking many bones in the process. Not sure what happened to the probably horrendous medical bill, but unfortunately the policeman was done in court by his own side. I would have organised a whip round for the bill.

Pr00ne,

I think Max was hinting that it would be handy to have martial law and some more 'relaxed' ROE in order to enable fixed magazines, bayonets, etc. (Maybe even pop off a few rounds?)

But wait... no..... that would probably have you and the rest of your delightful learned buddies at Matrix chambers clawing for representation rights?!

Max, don't worry about calls for heavy sounds of freedom, 20 tons of downwash rules.......!;)

Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick, but I'm pretty sure Scotland traditionally had a more relaxed marital law which is why folks often popped north of the border to wed in Gretna Green.

The problem here is the standard of policing - There is absolutely no difference made in the eyes of the police from that of the peaceful weirdo exercising their legitimate right of protest, from the dressed all in black anarchist - Which idiot made the decision to drive all the obvious anarchists out of the countryside where they were only surrounded by scenery and policemen, into Bannockburn where the innocent locals had their property smashed? Where are the police snatch squads? Should our civilian police be placed in these intolerable positions? Personally I can't understand why the G8 don't meet in Diego Garcia, Falklands or similar - anywhere will do, just stay away from us, the decent, law abiding populace who pay taxes through the nose for this sort of opulent grandstanding...:yuk:

certainly made an unusual sight to see the Old Bill piling out the back of a Wokka instead of a Transit Van

I wonder how many personnel the military authorities would have deemed it necessary to have to effectively secure the Gleneagles Hotel on its own - let alone the huge outer cordon that's been put in place. That outer cordon is so big it must be impossible to monitor. No wonder the protesters just wandered off route and broke straight through unopposed.

I am sure that there is someone here that can correct me, but the enactment of Martial Law requires an Order in Council - or can Queen's Order No 1 be initiated by the senior surviving minister of state? This gives a hint to the nature of Martial Law; oh yes, insurance policies also become invalid at that juncture. This was one reason that the Malayan insurgency from 1948 to 1960 was called an Emergency and not a war, even though for 2 critical years the High Commissioner was Director of Operations and a serving General. Hmm, if it looks like a duck...

But seriously, what would be achieved by the imposition of Martial Law - apart from the rozzers jumping for joy that they were no longer in charge - therefore the military would carry the can if things went wrong? Great ammunition for the anarchic fringe of a largely peaceful, socialist protest movement.

Training Risky,

Ah, I see, what you want is to be able to commit murder. Sorry, Martial Law won't help you there.

It does beg the question, why have these low-life commiescum not been engaged with tazer guns and CS gas? I woke up t see some "youf" propel a 5-iron through the window of a parked car, a short distance from the plod. They couldnt stop him. About time they started putting "A" sized batteries to replace their batton rounds and giving them a jolly good broadside!

I thought they would have got the hint when the wall was pulled down?

If the plod get to liking their new ride, maybe we can flog them a few Mk3s (lady owner, like new, never flown in rain...or within 500ft of cloud....). Hey, it'll make a nice change from Twin Squirrels for them.

This one looks bloody coordinated, so fear it will be the latter...

My thoughts with everyone involved in this disgusting incident.

Perhaps about we started pulling toenails of the responsible I feel.

True, it's a relative term. However a gross 68's not bad. Pity I couldn't match it on the home 9.
Todays appalling crimes in London by the "brave" soldiers of the terrorists make the activities of the black hooded anarchists shadowing the G8, appear almost dignified.
