Sorry this thread is not about the latest & greatest adventures of the RAF however I would appreciate any help.

Upon reading the obituary last week of the late Ray Holmes RIP I have on a whim decided to build a model of his Hurricane from that fateful day in September 1940.

For those who do not know who he was, Ray was the BoB pilot who brought down a German Bomber that was trying to bomb Buckingham Palace by ramming the bomber having run out of bullets attacking other Do17s.

Anyway I know he was flying for 504 Squadron that day but I wondered if anyone here knew of any links or books etc that may denote his aircraft from that day.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Try Google: Type in "Ray Holmes" with the punctuation which will restrict your search only to those called Ray Holmes.

Here's 2 sites for starters:

Ray Holmes 1 (http://www.bbm.org.uk/as-holmes.htm)

and

Ray Holmes 2 (http://www.cranstonfinearts.co.uk/ap004.htm )

Good Luck
