Something strange seems to have happened to my CTR+ALT+DEL window. In the past, I could use this to shut down unwanted programs etc using the different tabs up the top (processes etc) but now there AREN'T any tabs. If I don't have a program running, the main window is completely empty. There are only the three buttons down the bottom (End Task, Switch to and New task). How can I get the different tabs back so I can view processes running, shut down background tasks etc?
WIN XP
Thanks.

Maaaaarvelous. That's done the trick! Thanks!
Now that I have that sorted. What programs should I not shut down. When I want max performance, can I shut everything down that is not in the SYSTEM category? I seem to remember someone in the gaming community saying there was a program that would automatically close all unneeded programs for you. There are so many programs in the processes, it\'d take an hour to shut them down one by one.

The program you are thinking of is "Enditall2" but due to a bit of legal wrangling, it's no longer available free of charge on the net.
Most "SYSTEM", "LOCAL SERVICE" and "NETWORK SERVICE" processes should be left alone. In addition, don't close "rundll32.exe" or "explorer.exe". There may be a few others required by applications on your system, give them a google and see if they're safe to shut down. Apart from those exceptions, programs hogging large amounts of memory are pretty much fair game for closure.
