Since networking my home, my Laptop keeps installing software for my office HP 5510 on startup - despite it already being installed!
I've ensured that printers are not shared so it's not as if another pc requires the software.
Ideas please?

Click Start
Choose Run
Type in MSConfig
Click OK
Goto StartUp Tab
Check each program listed, you may find the printer s/ware is being checked by a util on boot up, and some how mis-read, so PC believes it needs to re-install it again.
I use a program called StartUp Advisor (just a google away ;> ) to check which programs are loading, and what they are for, but if you don't want to install it, or if you find it doesn't know about a certain program, then go to the directory the startup file concerned is located in,and check for any info there, or failing that, google the filename.
Also worth going through the other start up items, and if you're confident enough, disabling some un-necessary items. Even if these extra apps/utils are run once during logging on, then unloaded from memory, its still slowing your boot up times.
