After all this incomprehensible chat about cricket, I thought it was time we had a bit of variety in the sports pages of JB! I'm off to Epsom tomorrow for the Derby (have a superbly silly hat for the occasion) and not from the papers today the big upset that Frankie Dettori was warned off for 6 days yesterday for his behaviour at Haydock - so may not be riding Dubawi tomorrow. That puts the horse I'm backing - Oratorio - in with more of a chance! Anyone else following events?

Sadly, for your bet, The Eyetie will still be aboard Dubawi tomorrow, as the ban encompasses Royal Ascot and does not start till the week after next, June 13. No idea why. However you should still do well, as Dettori has ridden in the Derby 13 times without success!

Just had a look on Betfair, and for some reason the Derby is Suspended and you can't get an ante post bet on. Strange. Oratario was 4th favourite behind Motivator, Dubawi and Gypsy King so if you are having a flutter on it, I'd prolly do it on the course tomorrow.

Motivator has a very suspect temperament and may well get highly upset doing the parade in front of the stands. A very good horse but I don't think I'd go more than each way with him.

Dubawi is a son of the ill-fated Dubai Millenium, not a Derby horse, and with Dettori on board? No, I don't think the fates will be smiling on that one.

Think feathers, john - LOTS of feathers, creamy-brown in colour. When Mr SP saw it he laughed like a drain, just to give you an idea. :*

Yeah, must admit Gypsy King looks a very strong contender, but I had to pick something else cos the colleague who's selected him won't shut up about it!
