Just read in the local paper that the airport at Geelong (used to be known as Grovedale) is about to be sold and ops. moved to another spot.

This is another icon about to go as Lovely Banks a few years ago, does not leave too many training schools in this area?

Ah well progress sure catches up in the long run, seems like yesterday when I first visited the area when a mate was learning and he got me caught up in this aviation thing.

They're there alright, just too busy and successful in their careers to respond so quickly.
Many a young aspiring pilot has passed through touch-and-go's there and are now in Regionals/Majors.
JM actually flying bizjets now and probably can't attend to the place as required, as well as Grovedale suburban expansion putting pressure on the land useage.
Would be great to see it stay and major asphalt runways (East/West & North/South) laid, for turbine ops to be suitable.:D
:ok:
